Chemical Handler

Role Overview

We are looking for a Chemical Handler to join our Advanced Materials and Chemicals Division in Rochester, NY
 

As a Chemical Handler you will maintain a smooth continuous product flow of chemicals through the warehouse work area to maximize output.  Candidate must be a team player, supportive in achieving team, department and organization goals.  Individual will work in two locations within Eastman Business Park handling various chemicals, some of which will be hazardous where maintaining safety is the first priority.

REQUIRED SKILLS:
•    Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
•    Customer focused.
•    Good oral and written communication skills.
•    Strong attention to details, understand job related training material and follow established procedures. 
•    The ability to multi-task and prioritize work requests. 
•    Individual must be able to operate a forklift (sit-down, stand-up). (Training and certification provided on-site).
•    The ability to quickly adapt to change possesses a strong focus on safety, productivity, quality, cost and people.
•    Need to be able to function on a computer utilizing various databases and programs (SAP, SharePoint, excel and have basic computer skills).  
•    Need to be able to apply basic math concepts and utilize excel spreadsheets.
•    Individual must be able to maintain a clean work area and operate in a safe manner.
•    Frequent walking, standing, occasional lifting, carrying, pulling, pushing, occasional awkward positions.
•    Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
•    Strong team player.
•    Willing to work occasional overtime, after hour support and business needs.
•    The ability to function without close supervision, in a trustworthy manner and is self-motivated. 
•    Need to have demonstrated good analytical and trouble shooting skills. 
•    Strong focus on safety.
•    Strong focus on quality.

DESIRED SKILLS:
•    Warehousing/dock experience 
•    Working in a chemical environment

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
•    HS Diploma required or equivalent
