Role Overview

 

Kodak is looking for a Group Leader to lead the Flex B Shift team within Finishing in Kodak's Advanced Materials and Chemicals Division in Rochester, NY. This role will initially oversee a team of four employees, with potential for future growth as business needs expand. The Flex B Shift team is designed to provide burst capacity across multiple Finishing operations, requiring team members to maintain knowledge and proficiency in several areas and flex to where support is most needed.

 

The Group Leader will work closely with area supervisors and other functional leaders to coordinate staffing, training, and daily priorities while ensuring production goals, quality standards, and safety expectations are met. Success in this role requires strong organizational skills, the ability to provide guidance and direction to employees, effective communication, and a proactive approach to identifying and escalating issues when necessary.

 

Key Responsibilities:
•    Lead and coordinate the daily activities of the Flex B Shift team, initially consisting of four employees.
•    Provide guidance, direction, and coaching to team members while promoting a safe and productive work environment.
•    Coordinate staffing and prioritize resources to support changing production demands and burst-capacity requirements across multiple Finishing areas.
•    Ensure team members maintain training and proficiency in multiple operational areas to maximize workforce flexibility.
•    Monitor daily operations and keep the team focused on production priorities, quality requirements, and schedule adherence.
•    Identify operational issues, barriers, or resource constraints and escalate concerns to supervision in a timely manner.
•    Work closely with supervisors, planning, shipping, sensitizing, and other support organizations to align staffing and production needs.
•    Maintain training records and support ongoing skill development within the team.
•    Participate in daily production, quality, and operational meetings.
•    Become proficient in SAP software, including troubleshooting and deployment activities.
•    Perform daily confirmation checks to ensure processes, equipment, and operating conditions remain in control.

•    Strong communication skills with the ability to escalate issues appropriately and effectively.
•    Proven problem-solving and decision-making skills.
•    Working knowledge of Finishing operations and production processes.
•    Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
•    Experience coordinating work across multiple departments or operational areas.
•    Strong Microsoft Excel skills and willingness to learn additional systems and tools.

 

Hours:
•    During training: Mon – Fri 6am – 2:30pm
•    Standard shift (Post Training): 8-hour Mon-Fri work schedule B shift 2pm -10:30pm
•    Must have reliable transportation that is available for any/all shift configurations.


Physical Requirements: 
•    Willing and able to lift and move objects up to 40 pounds
•    Ability to work a rotating shift schedule if needed
•    Ability to work in dark room

Estimated Salary:  $25.00 - $27.00
