We are looking for an HSE Product Stewardship Specialist to join our WW Health, Safety and Environment team in Rochester, NY.  This can be a remote position anywhere in the U.S., if not local to Rochester, NY.

Position description:
 
As a member of the Product Stewardship team within the WW Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) organization, you will provide leadership and support to Kodak business divisions to ensure that HSE requirements are met for products put on the global market and for materials used in manufacturing. You will be at the leading edge of Kodak’s evolving product portfolio and technical innovation and will have a direct impact on our business success. As you grow into this role, you will:

•    Employ understanding of world-wide chemical- and materials-control regulatory requirements for the manufacture, distribution, and sale of products to help Kodak businesses meet regulatory deliverables within commercialization program deadlines. 

•    Respond to customer and other external requests related to product declarations, certifications, and hazard classification.

•    Monitor emerging regulatory requirements and industry trends to advise business units on portfolio impact and opportunities, esp. in relation to chemicals, packaging, equipment, and sustainability.

•    Coordinate with third-party consultants, as needed, to enable compliance with global regulations.

•    Interpret and communicate regulatory issues that will impact products and business strategies. Coordinate with legal and business resources to develop strategies to address regulatory concerns. 

•    Develop, manage, and participate in programs and projects for Corporate and/or local HSE initiatives.

•    Lead efforts to establish and improve HSE work processes.


 

Required Skills/Experience: 

•    Experience in Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) product regulatory affairs and competency with respect to global regulations governing chemical and materials management; examples include chemical hazard communication, dangerous goods transportation, and banned/restricted substances (TSCA, REACH, RoHS, etc.)

•    Familiarity with equipment standards, regulations, and restricted materials requirements is a plus.

•    Understanding of carbon accounting and other environmental sustainability initiatives.

•    The ability to learn new tasks quickly, multitask, and prioritize work.

•    Excellent communication skills; able to interpret, summarize, and communicate complex information to achieve results.

•    Ability to work well in a team environment across multiple disciplines and at all levels within the company.

•    Good judgment, with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

•    Experience with product commercialization and bringing new products to market.

•    Well-organized, with good record-keeping and document maintenance skills.

•    Strong aptitude with HSE-related information systems and proficient with Excel.

•    Capable of acquiring and applying detailed legal, technical, and regulatory information.

 

Education and Experience:

  • BS or equivalent in Chemistry, Biology, or related scientific field with good chemistry knowledge.
  • Minimum 1-3 years of relevant product stewardship or chemical and/or materials regulatory experience. 3 years strongly preferred.
