Role Overview

As a member of Eastman Kodak’s IT team, you will build, secure, operate and maintain IT systems for Kodak.  You will participate in projects to design and develop new solutions for systems, supporting services and stay current with industry trends and help set strategy.

 

This is a fully onsite role in Rochester, New York. 

 

Key Responsibilities:
The Linux/Unix SA Team provides technical support for Linux and Unix systems that run a wide variety of Mission Critical and Essential business applications (i.e., SAP). 
• Build, upgrade/patch, secure, operate and maintain RedHat Linux/Solaris servers/systems using standard procedures.
• Ensure that systems are configured and monitored for their security and that access is configured to standards to secure data.  
• Perform backup and recovery.
• Use established procedures for inventory and configuration management.
• Respond to requests and problems reporting in the ticketing system according to service levels and provide excellent customer service to end users.
• Interact with teams and management in a dynamic, open-door environment.  Bring ideas and innovation to the team
• Work with versatility across a wide range of technologies and systems.
• Provide after-hours/on-call support for critical systems.  Participate in operational emergencies and incident response situations.  Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation with other team members.
• Develop and follow documented ITIL procedures for incident, problem and change management.
• Respond to incidents and requests and escalate to appropriate vendors when needed.
• Update and develop procedures and documentation.
• Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation with other team members.

 

Desired Technical Skills:
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with the following technologies:
    • Red Hat Linux (v. 5-8)
    • Sun Solaris (v. 8-10)
    • Storage Systems (e.g., NetApp ONTAP, Quantum DXi)
• Hands on experience operating in a VMWare virtualized environment.
• Hands on experience operating in the Microsoft Azure cloud environment.
• Possess strong scripting capability and ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
• Ability to modify and write scripts using common tools such as sh, csh, bash, PERL and PowerShell.  

 

Required Non-Technical Skills:
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to be fully onsite in Rochester, New York. 
• Fluent and able to communicate using English.
• Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong team player.
• Highly motivated, eager to learn and take on greater responsibility.
• Ability to work on projects with global participation.
• Comfortable with global team and reporting structures – supervisor may be in another part of the world.
