Role Overview

The Kodalux Manufacturing Manager will be the leadership role responsible for all manufacturing activities associated with the start-up and ongoing manufacturing of products utilizing the Kodalux Light Blocking production processes.  In this role, the incumbent will be accountable for setting and achieving production targets while effectively and efficiently managing operations that include production scheduling, material management, maintenance, quality, engineering, HSE, and production.  This role is responsible for planning, organizing, and managing all manufacturing-related functions to achieve the highest levels of quality and customer service in a safe, efficient, and timely manner utilizing proven lean and continuous improvement techniques to ensure the achievement of business goals.

 

Job Duties:

  • Through joint consideration and planning, determine and establish long-range and short-term operations objectives which are consistent with existing sales, projected forecasts, cost requirements, inventory requirements, and other related factors involved in the manufacturing process. Ensure management and operational processes are adhered to. 
  • Regularly assess talent with the objective being to utilize personnel in the best manner to attain company-wide goals and meet agreed targets. Recruit, develop and motivate direct reporting staff, conduct hands-on training and development of staff.  
  • Plan and develop manufacturing schedules based on available labor, workforce capabilities, machine and materials availability, tooling requirements, and manufacturing capacities. Develop and implement monthly production plans to meet or exceed targets and manage the monthly objectives for all direct operations personnel. Manage schedule for all jobs to meet quoted lead times and provide feedback on available lead times for quotation purposes. Communicate plans to meet master production schedule with appropriate personnel. 
  • Primary interface with customer on demand, supply, and technical issues. 
  • Work jointly with Engineering, Purchasing, Quality, and Supply Chain Departments to ensure efficient and optimal use of resources to deliver on business objectives.  
  • Responsible for implementing manufacturing procedures. 
  • Maintain close involvement in all the various operational functions through the analysis of reports, holding supervisory meetings, policy revision/enforcement, general observations, and personal contacts to ensure the positive coordination and integration of work flow, timely production, budgetary conformance, schedule compliance, proper utilization of manufacturing personnel, skills utilization, machine capabilities and capacities, equipment and facilities. Maintain close communication with management regarding operational status and requirements. 
  • Track efficiency through corporate KPI’s and lead continuous improvement initiatives. Coordinate and direct major projects such as the acquisition and installation of capital equipment, plant layout changes, major repairs and overhauls, etc. which are in the best short and long term economic advantage to the Company. 
  • Oversee and coordinate various programs which are essential to operations such as employee training, HSE, OSHA compliance, EPA compliance, ISO, work standards, engineering improvements, cost reduction, input on wage and salary related matters, housekeeping, etc. 
  • Responsible for planning and determining the organizational structures, relationships, functions, and line of authority as they pertain to operations. 
  • Project a positive image to peers and associates at all levels and provide a positive leadership role in the integration of efforts between operations and all other functional areas within the Company, including internal suppliers.

Requirements:

-Minimum of 10 years experience in a manufacturing leadership role.

-Preferred experience in textile, paper, film, plastics industries.
