Manufacturing Operator

Role Overview

This position will be part of a team that operates a production-scale roll-to-roll manufacturing facility at the Eastman Business Park in Rochester, NY.  This position will support the new Light Blocking business for a textile specialty coating and finishing line in Rochester, NY.  

Job Requirements:
•    Operate roll-to-roll machine fabric coating lines (unwind/convey/wind)
•    Provide material handling support to operations team (raw materials, finished goods, work in process)
•    Accurate inventory control
•    Take quality test for incoming raw materials and final coated product
•    Perform analytical tests on prepared solutions 
•    Operate pressure vessels and mixers
•    Clean process equipment and work area
•    Identify waste and drive improvements to reduce waste and improve quality
•    Adhere to Kodak safety standards

Skills Required:
•    Strong mechanical aptitude
•    Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills (cause/effect)
•    Familiarity with basic quality tools (lean, six sigma, etc.)
•    Familiarity with web conveying machines
•    Dependable/Flexible
•    Good communication and listening skills
•    Organized and detail oriented
•    Good team player and willing to learn
•    High School Diploma or GED

Preferred Experience: 
•    Work experience in fast paced manufacturing environment
•    Web conveyance (wind, unwind, steering, tension, etc.)
•    Delivery equipment (filters, pumps, etc.)
•    Coating experience preferred.
•    Fork truck experience preferred / training available.

Physical Job Requirements
•    Bending/twisting/pulling/pushing
•    Standing for > 4 hrs. per day
•    Lifting up to 40 lbs
•    Operation of power trucks (including forklift)
•    Work schedule is days
