Solution Preparation Technician

Role Overview

We are looking a Pilot Solution Preparation Technician in the Eastman Business Park in Rochester, NY

As a Pilot Solution Preparation Technician you will be part of a team of technicians that operate multiple pilot coating facilities at Kodak’s EBP location in Rochester, NY. These coating facilities provide both experimental and production coating services to a wide range of companies in technology areas that include batteries, photovoltaics, fuel cells, optical films, security films, electronic films, packaging films, and many more.  The ideal candidate will have prior experience with the handling and mixing of dry and liquid chemicals used in roll to roll coating of the previously mentioned products. 

Job Requirements:
1.    Handling, dispensing, and mixing of a wide variety of chemicals that will then be tested and coated in the Kodak Pilot coating facilities.
2.    Read, comprehend, and follow all step by step solution preparation instruction provided by the engineering staff
3.    Read, comprehend, and follow all HSE instructions outlined in the preparation instructions.
4.     Ability to wear positive and negative respirators (1/2 face, full face, Bullard hood/PAPR)
5.     Proficient in the use of computers and basic Microsoft office applications (Outlook, excel, word)
6.     Flexibility in start/finish times when the business need requires (with prior notice)
7.    Cleaning of parts and vessels associated with the chemical mixing process

Skills required:
1.    Strong mechanical aptitude
2.    Basic math skills
3.    Troubleshooting skills (cause/effect)
4.    Familiarity basic lab practices and standards

Preferred experience:
1.    Use of rheometer, surface tensiometer, pycnometer, basic lab tools (pipette, beakers, graduated cylinders,etc)
2.    Knowledge of pressure vessel setup and safe operating principals
3.    Basic knowledge of sanitary and compression fittings and connectors
4.    Familiarity with basic quality tools (lean, six sigma, etc.)

Physical job requirements
1.    Bending/twisting/pulling/pushing
2.    Standing for > 4 hrs. per day
3.    Lifting up to 40 lbs. 
4.    Operation of power trucks (including forklift)
5.    Work schedule is 10 hours M-Thur or 10 hrs Tues-Fri.   A /B shift rotation is a possibility if the business need arises
